What does a photo mean to you? Are they moments in time? A glimpse of one’s personality? Or perhaps a form of art? For Emily, the answer is all of the above!
Emily is a 26-year-old self-taught photographer who will one day travel the world, capturing many cultures’ lives in images for others to experience.
This interest flared up in Emily around the age of 5 when she saw her family photos. She tried to use the family camera, but as a parent with an expensive toy, this was out of reach for costly reasons.
Not long after, Emily found another pathway to her passion and decided to explore the wild wild west of Dallas, Texas, by taking pictures with nothing more than just her iPhone. (and hopefully a portable charger!)
In time she took the money she made and invested in her camera and editing software to enhance the essence of what appeared in front of her lens.
To Emily, this isn’t just art; this is her life. Emily’s images capture the moments in life that show one’s personality, the moments that feed the soul.
In college, she pursued her passion by majoring in photography before shifting to her other passion, nursing. Now just as we all have our doubts, there were points where Emily felt discouraged and put her camera down. She even deleted her Instagram in thoughts that no one cared about her art….., but these periods didn’t stand a chance against the fire of her passion!
With Emily realizing the many beauties in life to witness, she is back with her camera in hand to share these moments for both you and me! In the words of Emily, “I want to travel the world to take pictures of different cultures and capture a glimpse of people in their zone!”
Keep going, Emily. Your images will bring light to more than you know, and trust that we can’t wait to see them!
